Panorama City

Panorama City is a neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles, California. It boasts the Valley's greatest population density and a usually youthful age range. More than half of its inhabitants were born outside of the United States, a larger rate than Los Angeles as a whole. It has produced some noteworthy people and is known as the valley's first planned town following a transition from agricultural to a post-World War II housing boom. Single-family houses and low-rise apartment complexes currently make up most of the neighborhood. Three high schools, two leisure facilities, a senior center, two hospitals, and a chamber of commerce are all located in Panorama City.

Panorama City is the San Fernando Valley's first planned community. In 1948, it was designed by residential developer Fritz B. Burns and businessman Henry J. Kaiser. The master plan was designed by Wurdeman & Becket, an architectural firm. In 1945, Burns teamed up with Kaiser to create Kaiser Community Homes, anticipating the immense potential wealth that would be realized as large numbers of World War II veterans returned home and started families. Most of the homes were purchased with FHA loans or the Servicemen's Readjustment Act of 1944, also known as the G.I. Bill.

In the area, you'll find the Panorama Recreation Center. At the facility, which also acts as a Los Angeles Police Department drop-in station, there is an auditorium, a lighted baseball diamond, illuminated outdoor basketball courts, a children's play area, a community room, an indoor gymnasium, picnic tables, and unlit tennis courts. The Sepulveda Recreation Center is located in Panorama City. The complex has two indoor gymnasiums, one of which may be utilized as an auditorium. The facility has a lighted baseball diamond, lighting indoor basketball courts, a children's play area, a community room, and lighted tennis courts. The Sepulveda Pool is a non-heated seasonal outdoor pool at the Sepulveda complex.

Panorama City is home to the Mid-Valley Senior Citizen Center. There is an auditorium, a kitchen, and a stage in the facility. The structure was once a convalescent facility. The old convalescent facility was renovated into a senior center in July 2000. Panorama City may not be as well-known as other American cities, but don't be fooled.
