North Hills
North Hills, formerly known as Sepulveda, is a Los Angeles neighborhood located in the San Fernando Valley. North Hills was once part of the Mission Acres agricultural community. After WWII, the newly created suburban town was renamed Sepulveda in honor of California's prominent Sepulveda family. It was renamed North Hills in 1991.To the west is Northridge, to the east is Panorama City, to the south is Van Nuys, and to the north is Granada Hills. Sepulveda Boulevard and Roscoe Boulevard are major thoroughfares, as are Hayvenhurst, Woodley, and Haskell Avenues, as well as Lassen, Plummer, and Nordhoff Streets. North Hills is bordered on the west by Balboa Boulevard and Bull Creek ("the wash"), the north by Devonshire and Lassen Street, the east by the Pacoima Wash, and the south by Roscoe Boulevard.

North Hills is home to the enormous Veterans Administration Sepulveda Ambulatory Treatment Center facility, which provides residential and outpatient care to veterans in the San Fernando Valley. The location was part of the Mission San Fernando Rey de Espaa properties until 1846, when it was sold to the Rancho Ex-Mission San Fernando of Andrés Pico, which is located near the Andrés Pico Adobe. In 1913, the Los Angeles Aqueduct provided irrigation to Mission Acres, an agricultural town founded by early entrepreneurs who established 1-acre sections for agricultural activity. The Pacific Electric railway streetcars stopped at the village on their trip from downtown Los Angeles to the San Fernando Valley.
