Glendale is a city in Los Angeles County, California, located in the Verdugo Mountains. The population was 196,543 at the time of the 2020 U.S. Census, up from 191,719 at the time of the 2010 census, making it the fourth-largest city in Los Angeles County and the 24th-largest city in California. It's roughly ten miles (16 kilometers) north of downtown Los Angeles. Glendale is a suburb of the Los Angeles metropolitan region located in the Verdugo Mountains. The city is bordered on the northwest by the Los Angeles neighborhoods of Sun Valley and Tujunga; on the northeast by La Caada Flintridge and the unincorporated area of La Crescenta; on the west by Burbank and Griffith Park; on the east by Eagle Rock and Pasadena; on the south by the Los Angeles neighborhood of Atwater Village; and on the southeast by the Los Angeles neighborhood of Glassell Park. The city is bisected by the Golden State, Ventura, Glendale, and Foothill highways.

Glendale used to be known for its mall, but today this city on the outskirts of Los Angeles is recognized for a lot more, and it's quickly establishing itself as the place to go if you're looking for something a bit different. The city is surrounded by great landscape, so you may go for a stroll in the nearby mountains, which include rocky terrain and wildflowers. Hiking and biking in the region, or at one of the city's parks, are additional popular activities. Verdugo Park is one of Glendale's major parks, and it is called for the Verdugo Mountains after which it is located.

Locals love the park because of the variety of activities available, which include play spaces for younger children as well as baseball grounds and basketball courts. Like the Hidden hills outdoor spirit, there are also picnic spots, horseshoe courts, and even a skate park where you can spend the afternoon basking in the California sun. Forest Lawn Cemetery is also known as 'Glendale's Walk of Fame,' since it is the last resting place of a few well-known celebrities. As a result, many people come to pay their respects to one of their idols, and the graves of movie stars, singers, and musicians, as well as a few other prominent professions, may be found here. Michael Jackson, Humphrey Bogart, and Sammy Davis Jr. are all buried in Glendale.
